About Therapy

During life’s journey, things can get complicated, messy, and sometimes we lose sight of what makes us happy. We can begin to feel depressed, trapped, and sometimes that happiness may be taken from us by stress or a life-changing event.

Whether you find yourself struggling with work-related issues, relationship and family problems, anxiety, depression, or perhaps you’re having difficulty making an important decision on what direction to go in life; everyone goes through these experiences during their lifetime – and therapy can help. While it may have been negatively viewed in the past, in today’s society we are learning that mental health is our most important and treasured part of our overall health and quality of living.

Through individual therapy sessions, we will work to solve current problems by creating and focusing on your goals. With an emphasis and direction toward positive thinking and behavior, you will discover valuable tools to cope with life’s obstacles. I am confident you will find this personalized therapeutic experience beneficial and enlightening as you learn to reclaim control in your life.

If you are looking for quality couples therapy, you have come to the right place. Having been trained as a marriage and family therapist, trust that your needs will be met as we navigate the complexities that occur within intimate relationships. Understanding that all relationships look different and despite whether you have just recently gotten into a relationship or you have hit a rough patch many years down the road, schedule a session and let begin the journey together.

Whoever said having a family was easy? While family brings us joy and fulfillment, they also offer us everchanging challenges. From family life transitions as part of having children through to caregiving for an aging parent, family therapy can be helpful. Using techniques and tools to generate understanding and bring balance to your lives, we will work together sorting through these challenges.

Eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR) is a unique, nontraditional therapy where clients can experience relief and decreased negative feelings and reactions to traumatic events. Focusing on present symptoms originally generated from the trauma, this form of therapy helps process and store associated memories in a non-disturbing way without reliving the trauma.

CONCIERGE

The concierge is a premier service for those clients that lead an active lifestyle; those that find themselves in need of services, but unable to make it into the office. Whether you are a busy entrepreneur, traveling worker, or an active family – this may be the service for you. While traditional therapy would take place in the office, with the concierge service, therapy could be at home, out on your lunch break, afternoon walk, or on request to best serve your therapeutic needs. If you are interested in this service, please contact us for more details.

INTENSIVES

Intensives are sessions that last longer than a normal 50-minute session. These are usually scheduled after an initial consultation for individuals and couples with complex issues. Sometimes people may seek intensives if they find themselves traveling longer distances for services or to work through complete issues in longer blocks of time that provide uninterrupted service. EMDR and couples intensives generally meet less frequently with follow up sessions to monitor progress. Please let the office know if intensives are something that you are interested in and would like to know more about.
